The local dealer value and days to sell need your postcode and enough similar cars listed near you, so they are not available for every car.

What is in the CarCostCheck bundle?▼
The bundle is the full £4.99 history check and the £2.99 valuation in one payment of £6.99. The history check covers outstanding finance with the lender and agreement details, stolen, insurance write-off, keeper change dates, VIN and engine number, colour and plate changes, import and export markers and scrapped status. The valuation adds the local dealer value, a private sale price range, days to sell, the estimated years left on the road and insurance estimates.
How much does a car history check with a valuation cost?▼
At CarCostCheck it is £6.99 for both, £0.99 less than buying the £4.99 history check and the £2.99 valuation separately. Elsewhere, a history check that includes a valuation costs from £5.99 (MOTCO) to £19.99 (HPI's full check, which adds a £30,000 data guarantee). CarCostCheck does not offer a data guarantee. Does an HPI check include a valuation?▼
HPI's £19.99 full check includes a market valuation where one is available, along with a £30,000 data guarantee. CarCostCheck's history check and valuation together cost £6.99, without a guarantee.
Is a valuation included in the £4.99 history check?▼
No. The £4.99 check is a history check. The free report shows an estimated value range, and the £2.99 valuation adds the local dealer value and days to sell. The bundle gives you both for £6.99.
Is there a data guarantee?▼
No. CarCostCheck does not offer a data guarantee. HPI, the AA, the RAC and Total Car Check Gold include a £30,000 guarantee at higher prices.
Do I need to give a postcode?▼
It is optional. The local dealer value and days to sell are worked out for your area, so we ask for a postcode at checkout or on the report. Without one you still get the history check, the private sale range, the years-left estimate and the insurance estimates.
Is the local dealer value always available?▼
Not for every car. It needs enough similar cars listed at dealers near you, so it is available for most cars but less often for cars registered from 2023 onwards. When it is missing, the report says so and still shows the private sale price range.
Does the valuation tell me what a dealer would pay in part-exchange?▼
No. It shows what similar cars are listed for at dealers near you and the likely private sale range. It does not include a part-exchange or trade price.
How do I get my report?▼
Your report appears on screen as soon as you pay, and we email you one link to the whole report so you can open it again later. To keep a copy, print it or save it as a PDF from your browser.
Can I get a refund?▼
Yes, for genuine problems. If your report fails to generate, shows the wrong car or has a fault, contact support@carcostcheck.co.uk and we will refund you. Because the report is delivered instantly, we cannot refund a correct report if you simply change your mind.
