CarCostCheck (carcostcheck.co.uk) is a free vehicle analysis tool that uses publicly available government data to generate vehicle reports.

What data we collect

We collect minimal data:

• Registration plates you search: These are sent to the DVSA and DVLA APIs to generate your report. We do not store registration plates or search history.
• Analytics data: We may use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site (pages visited, time on site, device type). This uses cookies and is anonymised.
• No personal accounts: We do not require sign-up, collect email addresses, or store personal information.

Cookies

We may use essential cookies for site functionality and analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand site usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Third-party services

• DVSA: MOT history data is fetched from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency API.
• DVLA: Vehicle details are fetched from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency API.
• Vercel: Our hosting provider. See their privacy policy.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you.
